![]() Secondly, the way you answer the first question does affect the required skill for later questions, not just the final one: with 10/10 skill, the only option for the 3rd question was the one that matched the 1st (regardless of my answer on the 2nd). Firstly, 10 skill is not enough for the final options I'd guess it has to be maxed, but I don't have a convenient way to check skill 11. I did some more testing (with a 10/10 skill character). The result, in either case, is not particularly dramatic I was hoping he'd break down and confess something, but no such luck. As far as I can tell, the later choices don't matter, as long as you get to the final choice without screwing up. If you give the Charm answer ("that's correct") the final Charm option is available, if you give the Intimidate answer ("that's irrelevant") the final Intimidate option is available. Apparently, the first choice, where he says the Alliance contracts to MarGene or the Citadel contracts to a salarian corporation, determines which final choice is available. I tried several variations, using a character with both Charm and Intimidate maxed. I don't have a save file right before it or I'd be testing it out myself, but it was a little bit annoying that I wasn't able to press the conversation in that direction. The most info I could find on this was gamefaqs, where it was theorized that if you mix/match the charm/intimidate options it won't let you continue on that path. ![]() Despite having max charm, the (assumably) final charm option when talking to Vargus was grayed out.
